Annie Elizabeth Brewington Carter, 84, of 451 Brewington Road, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, Sept. 9th at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Chris Webb and Rev. Don Carter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Annie, born May 7, 1938 in Sampson County was the daughter of the late Hardy Floyd Brewington and Bessie Mary Epps Brewington. She was a special needs caregiver and educator for Sampson County Schools. She started at Headstart and then to the Clinton City School System. Annie was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Darrell Patrick Carter and brother Karon Delbert Brewington.
Survivors include; husband of 66 years, Floyd Lee Carter; son Edward Earl Carter (Sharon); grandchildren, Patrick Carter, Cortney Carter, Devin Carter, and Matthew Carter; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, James Arthur Brewington and Princeton Lee Brewington.
