Alice Eunicie Ivey Pope, 90, of 414 Wrye Branch Rd., passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the home of her son surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, June 17th at The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, 1610 W Elizabeth Street, Clinton, NC with Elder Jeremy Pope conducting the service and President Alfred Tyndall presiding. Interment will follow immediately after the service in the Harnett Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Roseboro, NC. The family will receive friends one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
Alice was born October 21, 1930 in Oliver County, Georgia to the late Pulaski Andrew Ivey and Annie Caonia Draughon Ivey Pope. She was a homemaker, lover of all music, and loved spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Talbert B Pope and children Lily Ann Pope, Talbert B Pope, Jr., Terry Lynn Pope, Leonard Layne Pope, Gerald Max Pope and grandchild Miles Andrew Pope.
Survivors include; brother, Charles “Chuck” Henderson Ivey and wife Loretta of Hickory; sister, Doris Ivey Tart of Harrells; children, Andy Pope and wife Lisa of Clinton, Randy Poole Pope and wife Kathy of Faison, Patricia “Trish” Pope Lathan of Lenoir, Joy Pope Zanikos of Clinton, 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in care of Alfred Tyndall, 2527 N US 421 Hwy, Clinton, NC 28328.
