Alease Bradshaw Spell, 83, of 7612 Keener Road, passed away at her home, Thursday, August 14, 2025.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, August 18th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Massey and Rev. Robert Cribbs officiating.  Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Garden.  The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service at the funeral home and at other times at the home.

Alease, born May 24, 1942, in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late William Festus Bradshaw and Mamie Lula Branch Bradshaw.  She worked at Hamilton Beach, Gayle Fashions and farmed with her husband.  She was a member of Bonnetsville Church of God of Prophecy.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her son, Elbert Nixton Spell, Jr. “Nicky” and siblings Elliott Bradshaw, Juanita Bradshaw, Eleanor Butler, Julius “Shotgun” Bradshaw, Craven “Sonny Boy” Bradshaw and Jean Ellen Bradshaw Daniels.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Elbert Nixton Spell, Sr., son Arnold Spell and wife Teresa, daughter-in-law Marilyn Spell,  grandchildren Bartley Spell (Evie), Nicole Spell Rappleye (Daniel) and Austin Spell (Payton Parker), Heather Mendoza (Ricardo) and Tonya Davis, four great-grandchildren Drake, Alessa, Nick Jr. and Shaniya Spell, eighteen great-great-grandchildren, and special family Donald and Malupe Cruz, Chris, Beatrice and Angel.
