Albert Coleman Hodges, 73, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 7th at Clinton City Cemetery with Rev. Chubby Reiber officiating with Masonic Rites.
Albert, born September 12, 1952, in Sampson County, was the son of the late Ralph Coleman Hodges and Margaret Hairr Hodges. He worked as a police officer with the City of Clinton but his love of aviation and space exploration led him to obtaining his private pilot license with multi-engine and instrument ratings. He was hired by Piedmont Airlines and also served with USAir as a flight attendant. He was employed with NC Dept. of Correction and later transferred to NC Department of Transportation where he retired. Albert was a member of Plainview PFWB Church.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Currie Hodges, his son Scott and his wife Brandie and granddaughter Alison Beasley.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or to the Sampson County Animal Shelter, 168 Agriculture Place, Clinton, NC 28328.
