William Lebrix “Buddy” McLamb, 92, of 7764 High House Road, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Southwood Nursing Center.
Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, July 13, 2018, at Piney Green Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Donald Keith Carter officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Born in 1926 in Sampson County, Buddy was the son of the late William Almond McLamb and Jennie Strickland McLamb. He was a farmer and a lifelong member of Piney Green Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on numerous committees and was a deacon emeritus. He was an army veteran of WWII. He had a deep love for his community and fellow men and women. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Laura McLamb, and a sister, Matoka Jackson.
Survivors include: wife, Estalene S. McLamb; sons, William Dale McLamb and wife Elaine of Roseboro, and Michael Stuart McLamb and wife Gaile of Dunn; step-daughter, Myra Cain and husband Roger of Salemburg; grandchildren; Melanie Harris (Craig), Neil McLamb (Melissa), Ashley McLamb (Jana) and Adam McLamb (Lauren); step-grandson, Nicholas Cain; great-grandchildren, Kelcey Harris, Lauralee Harris, Nathaniel McLamb, Braxton McLamb, Ansley McLamb, Michael McLamb, William McLamb and Caitlynn McLamb; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorials may be made to Piney Green Baptist Church, 6040 High House Road, Salemburg, NC 28385.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 13, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church and at other times at the home of Dale and Elaine McLamb, at 1240 Paula Matthews Road, Roseboro NC 28382.
