Webster Tyson Honeycutt, 95, of 6945 N Salemburg Hwy., passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at home.
A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M., Friday, July 20, 2018 at Piney Green Baptist Church, Salemburg, NC, with Reverend Donald Keith Carter and Dr. Drexel Rayford officiating. Interment with Masonic rites will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church Friday, from 1:30 P.M. – 2:45 P.M. just before the service and at other times at the home.
Tyson, born in 1922, was the son of the late William Almond Honeycutt and Lovie Jane Strickland Honeycutt. He was a lifelong member of Piney Green Baptist Church serving in numerous positions as well as a deacon emeritus. Tyson was a member of the Coharie Masonic Lodge #379, and a former master of this lodge. He was a farmer, carpenter, plumber and the oldest person to go through basic training at the NC Justice Academy, where he retired as a security. He was a World War II Veteran.
officer. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William F. (Babe) Honeycutt and Rexford Honeycutt, and two sisters, Dorcas H. Craig and Rebecca H. West Newsome.
Survivors include; wife of seventy-two years, Anna Frances Porter Honeycutt; children, Jo H. Ruddock and husband Paul of Roseboro, Frankie H. Waters and husband Dan of Roseboro, and John Bennett Honeycutt of Roseboro; sister, Joanne H. Allen of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Mark Tyson Ruddock and wife Sarah, Blair Ruddock Beason and husband Brent, Elizabeth Honeycutt, Tyler Honeycutt and wife Stephanie, Adam Honeycutt and wife Whitney; great-grandchildren, Parker Tyson Ruddock, Scarlett Peyton Ruddock, Anna Gray Beason, Sadie Ellen Beason, LauraBeth Nicole Honeycutt and John Tyson Honeycutt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
