Lawrenceville, GA- Mavis Carter, age 71 of Lawrenceville, passed away on October 31, 2018. A visitation will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church in Clinton, NC, from 2 PM – 3 PM, Saturday, November 3, 2018, and a funeral service will follow at the church at 3 PM. Interment will be in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery immediately after the funeral. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Carter; and parents, Clifton and Cattie Simmons. Mavis is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Shane & Jennifer Carter, Dacula; daughter, Ashley Fleeman, Richmond, KY; son, Wesley Carter, Lawrenceville; special friend, Mr. Billy White, Lawrenceville; sister & brother-in-law, Wanda & Bobby Bandy, Charlotte, NC; brother & sister-in-law, Cliff Marty & JoAnn Simmons, Tar Hill, NC; sister, Gaye Simmons Cushing, Lumberton, NC; sister-in-law, Perleen Simmons, Clinton, NC; grandchildren, Devon Carter, Ashton Fleeman, Summer Fleeman, Jolynn Fleeman & Emily Carter; numerous family and friends.
