Mrs. Dilsie Marie Burnette Whitehead, 88, of 8640 US Hwy. 421 N. passed away Thursday, June 07, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday June 10, 2018 at East Carolina Holiness Church with the Rev. Buddy Brewington, Rev. Glenn Vann, and Rev. Jerry Groves officiating. Additional comments will be made by Joe McNeil and Greg Jacobs. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Park Cemetery in Clinton.
Dilsie, born in Sampson Co. was the daughter of the late Nettie Burnette. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia B. Puleo and grandmother Lizzie Jackson Maynor. Dilsie retired from Sampson Regional Medical Center as a CNA and was a member of East Carolina Holiness Church.
Survivors are her children: DeVane Burnette (Shelby) of Greensboro; Jerome Burnette (Nann) of Ashboro; Gail Phillips; Kenneth Burnette (Deborah) of Virginia Beach, Va; Nancy McClenny of Clinton; Phyllis Burnette of Clinton; Donna Burnette Simmons (Arnold) of Clinton; 2 special pets: Luci-Anna and Bella Rain; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; a nephew Victor Alford Puleo; special friends Ms. Rosie Strickland, the Royal family, and the twins Lois and Joyce.
The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Saturday June 9, 2018 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and other times at the home.
