Margolius Simmons

Mr. Margolius Simmons, of Knorr Lane died Saturday, April 29, 2017, in Sampson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 3PM Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Holly Grove Holiness Church, 1519 Indian Town Road, with Rev. Dr. Randy Simmons, Rev. Julius Simmons and Rev. Arthur Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Simmons was born in Sampson County and was the son of the late Jessie David Simmons and Ollie Odell Ammons Simmons. He was a farmer and retired upholsterer. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters, J.D. Simmons, Cecil Simmons, Walter Simmons, Earl Simmons, Janice Jacobs and Loria Ann Young. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Alice Young Simmons; three sons, Margolius Simmons, Jr (Edna Carter), Scottie O’Neil Simmons (Edith) , David Glenn Young (Anqelique); seven brothers and sisters, Julia Fortner, Brenda Ammons, Fay Jacobs, Billy Simmons, Samuel Simmons, Harold Dale Simmons and Allen Gene Simmons; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Cameron Langston, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends 6-8PM Monday, May 1, 2017 at Holly Grove Holiness Church and other times at the home.
