Mae was my friend since 1976. She and I were elected to the Register of Deeds position the same year; however I took office 3 months before her because my predecessor had died. I never considered Mae to be a day older than me because she was always so youthful, never seems to be old and set in her ways. She, my husband and I rode to Billings, Montana in 2001. We had the best time ever and I'll always remember that trip because we stopped when we wanted to, ate when we wanted to and shopped when we wanted to and although she was a few years older than Jack and I, she hung in there.
Becky and I visited with her and family on her birthday, had a piece of her cake and just had and all around good time. I will miss her.
I'll always love Mae and my condolences go out to all the family.

I offer my heartfelt condolences to the family for your loss. It's never easy losing someone we love and no doubt it will take time for the pain to heal. I find comfort in the promise at John 5:28,29, which speaks of the time when we can see our dear loved ones again. May your reflection on this promise and the fond memories you have bring you comfort and strength to endure this difficult time.
