Lambert Bruce Goodman
August 1936 – January 2018
Lambert “Bruce” Goodman, 81, of 556 Hubbard Butler Road, passed away at Rex Healthcare on the evening of January 22, 2018.
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at New Bethel Baptist Church, with the Reverend Terry Cummings, Reverend Mike Cummings and Reverend Ken Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
Bruce, born on August 7, 1936 in Clinton to the late, Reuben Ashford Goodman and Maggie Jacobs Goodman. After farming with his family for years, Bruce began working at Lundy Packing Company (now Premium Standard Farms). He worked and retired from there with over 40 years’ service.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Helen Goodman; daughter, Andrea Goodman of Clinton; son, Jamie Goodman of Raleigh; beloved granddaughter, Jana Goodman of Raleigh; sister, Onzie Edwards of Fayetteville; and, nieces, nephews and countless cousins. Bruce is preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Goodman; and his sister, Darlene Lupton.
Bruce was active in his church and community and will be remembered as a kind soul who always had time to talk and loved his family deeply.
The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. – 8 P.M., Friday, January 26, 2018 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
