Ms. Julia “Judy” (Simmons) Fortner, 74, of 21 David Lane went home to be with her LORD & SAVIOR Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC.

The funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, December 15th, at Holly Grove Holiness Church located at 1519 Indian Town Road Clinton, NC. The Rev. Dr. Randy Simmons, Pastor Eddie Smith, Pastor Steven Jacobs and Pastor Russ Emanuel will be officiating. Burial & Committal will follow in the church cemetery.

Ms. Julia was born in Sampson County, NC to the late Jessie David Simmons and Ollie Odell Ammons. She was employed by The Ark Childcare at Holly Grove Holiness Church where she was a faithful and loving member.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers; J.D., Golius, Earl, Cecil, and Walter Simmons; two sisters, Janice Jacobs and Loria Young.

She is survived by her beloved son Jimmy Emanuel & wife (Michelle) of Autryville, NC, one loving daughter, Kimberly Rose & husband (Robert) of Clinton, NC, four brothers, Harold Dale Simmons & wife (Patsy), Sam Simmons & wife (Frances), Allen Gene Simmons & wife (Nancy), all of Clinton, NC, Billy Simmons & wife (Kay)of Magnolia, NC. Two sisters, Fay Jacobs & late husband (Sunny) and Brenda Ammons of Clinton, NC; three precious grandchildren, Benjamin Emanuel, Kurstin and Kayleigh Rose. Ms. Julia was a woman with a big heart who loved children more than herself and she displayed this by opening up her home to the following loved ones who were dear to her heart; Brandi, Malik, Hailey & Marcus Young, Debbie Jacobs, Suzanne Simmons and Jennifer Fortner. She also has to cherish her memory close friends of the family Coby, Mariah, Alexia, and Ariel Fortner along with Jenny Wallace & Beverly Brewington.

The family will receive friends Friday 7-9pm at Holly Grove Holiness Church and other times at the home.
