Mrs. Josephine Turner Davis, 77, of Clinton, died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the home of her granddaughter in Wallace. Funeral services will be held 2PM Wednesday, November 28, at Colonial Heights Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Gene Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at 1PM at the church. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery. Mrs. Davis, a native of Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Louis Edgar Turner and Lizzie Jane Lucas Turner Mirek and the widow of James Robert Davis, Sr. She attended Colonial Free Will Baptist Church in Clinton, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Davis Smith, a son, Anthony Lewis Davis and two sisters, Dorothy Jones and Louise Street. Surviving are two sons, James Robert Davis, Jr. and Thomas Lee Davis both of Clinton; five sisters, Daisy Smith of Clinton, Rena Britt and husband John of Raleigh, Edna Byrd and husband Jerry of Clinton, Barbara Magon and husband Al of Va., and Naomi Eaton and husband Mark of Va.; four grandchildren, Sherrie Dawn Smith and wife Sharon Rich of Wallace, Jamie Lynn Slaughter and husband Terrance of Princeton, Dana Smith of Clinton and Jennifer Knowles and husband Brett of Clinton; seven great grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Shirley Buchanan. Memorials may be made to Colonial Heights Free Will Baptist Church, 1140 Elizabeth Street, Clinton, NC 28328.
