Mr. Jimmy Lang Matthis, 65, died Friday, October 26, 2018 at his home.

A graveside service will be Monday 2PM at the Matthis Cemetery in Clinton with Rev. Norman Futrell officiating.

Mr. Matthis, a native of Sampson County was the son of Helen Dixon Matthis and the late Benjamin Tillman Matthis.   He was a heavy equipment operator for Waste Management.  He was preceded in death by a sister Nettie Rae Matthis and a son, Jonathan Matthis.

Surviving are his wife Kathy Matthis of the home; a son, Benjamin Patrick Matthis; a daughter Jacqueline Carroll Childress; a sister, Diane Caine; his mother, Helen Dixon Matthis;a brother, Clayton Matthis; three grandchildren, Chandler Childress, Natalie Childress and Emm    a Lee Matthis and numerous nieces , nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home.
