Jerry Edwin Hope, 63, of 848 Pine Ridge Road, passed away Monday,

October 15, 2018, at Rex Hospital.

Funeral will be held at 2 P.M., Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church with the Reverend Tony Calhoun officiating.  Interment will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery.

Jerry, born in Sampson County in 1954, was the son of the late John Edwin Hope and Eva Mae Bass Hope.  He was retired from the Dept. of Correction and was a farmer.  Jerry enjoyed tending God’s land and sharing his produce with his family and friends.  He loved fishing and spending time with friends and family at the beach.   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Kenneth Wayne Hope, Evelyn Hobbs McCullen and Betty Doris Hope Raynor and his mother-in-law, Mildred L. Jordan and father-in-law, Hubbard D. Jordan.

Survivors include; wife of forty-two years, Ann Jordan Hope; sister-in-law, Gayle Jordan; brother-in-law, Herbie Jordan (Amy); many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and his German Shepard companions, Sheriff and Baby.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM – 8 PM, Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund, 800 Smith Street, Clinton, NC  28328.
