Mrs. Jane Bradshaw, 87, of 8209 Faison Hwy, Faison, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, November 5th,  passing away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Newport, NC, with her family around her.

 

She is survived by; daughters, Sandra Bradshaw Kennedy of Faison, Dorothy Bradshaw Smith and her husband, William “Bill” Smith of Newport, Delma Bradshaw Price and husband, Kenneth Price of Faison, and Mary Bradshaw McQueen of Morehead City;   sons; Henry Frank Bradshaw and wife, Sharon M. Bradshaw of Faison, and Gene Edward Bradshaw and wife, Linda C. Bradshaw of Faison; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild;  a brother-in-law, Ted Tillman of Goldsboro; and a special friend and nurse for many years, Mrs. Amanda Bass, RN.

 

Mrs. Jane was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Hargrove and Etha Mae Sharp Hargrove, and was the widow of Delmon Henry Bradshaw.  She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Natalie Brooke Odom of Newport, NC; her brothers, Jessie Martin Hargrove of Texas, Benjamin Franklin (B. F.) Hargrove, Jr. of Oroville, California; sisters, Lillian Nance of Peoria, Arizona, Betty Jones of Mt. View, Arkansas, Dorothy Frazer of New Orleans, Louisiana, Billie Hollingsworth Lee of Faison, Lois Opal Faircloth, of Clinton, and Mae Hargrove Troublefield of Faison.

 

Mrs. Jane was born on October 11, 1930 in Stamford, Texas.  In 1938 her family moved to Sampson County, NC and she remained here for the rest of her life.  She was a homemaker and lifelong member of Poplar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, serving the Lord as a Sunday school teacher for many years.  She operated a beauty shop in Turkey, NC for years before moving it later to her home.  She also worked in the cafeteria at Hargrove School.  She was loved by many and known simply as “Nanny”.

 

Services for Mrs. Bradshaw will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM, November 7th, at Poplar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Faison, with the Reverend Ray Smith and Reverend David Jones officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following service and at other times at the home of Henry Frank Bradshaw, 3540 East Darden Road, Faison, NC.  Entombment   will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 AM, at the Devotional Garden Cemetery, in Warsaw.

 

The family request that memorials gift be made to Poplar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 90 Giddensville Road, Faison, NC  28341.
