Emily Cordelia (Lanier) Spearman

Rose Hill, N. C. Mrs. Emily Cordelia Spearman, 87, of 4061 N.C.Hwy. 903 S., passed away Thursday July 27, at Mary Gran Nursing Center of Clinton. A funeral service will be held 3 PM Sunday at Concord Baptist Church 3197 S NC 903 Hwy, Magnolia, NC 28453 with the Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Emily, born in Duplin County was the daughter of the late Jesse Lark Lanier and Martha Elizabeth Lanier Lanier. She was also preceded in death by J. L. Lanier, Joyce Lanier, Peggy Pickett, Elizabeth Shelton, Nettie Poole, and Barbara Lanier. She was a farmer, a homemaker, and a member of Concord Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 69 years James Spearman of the home. Four children, Jimmy Spearman and wife Kay, Joyce Corbett and husband Roger, Joe Spearman and wife Ginger, and Mark Spearman and wife Becky. One brother Norwood Pete Lanier, Sisters Lena Carr Brown and Frankie Edwards, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The Family will receive friends 2 to 3 PM Sunday 1 hour prior to the service at Concord Baptist Church and other times at the home, 4061 N C Hwy. 903 S.
