Mr. Carl Branch Crumpler, 81, of Bonnetsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Sampson Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 4, at White Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Porter officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery.

Carl, born in Sampson Co. , was the son of the late Hubert Dewitt Crumpler and Hattie Hazel Branch Crumpler. He was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Peyton Crumpler and a grandson, Carl Justin Crumpler. Carl spent many years working with the Witchweed program in Sampson Co. He also worked with Dainty Maid Bakery as a route driver and retired from Allen Canning. He was also a retired farmer and a member of White Oak Baptist Church.

Carl is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Zola Knowles Crumpler; daughter Lynette Crumpler Denton and husband Gary; sons Carl Stanley Crumpler and Hubert Neil Crumpler and wife Diane. Carl enjoyed many happy times with his granddaughters, Marla Denton Taylor (husband Wes Taylor and Magon Denton Simmons (husband Josh Simmons). Carl was blessed to have three great-grandchildren: Carli, Rachel, and Luke as well as five step great-grandchildren: Haley, Aerica, Summer, Ryan, and Nikalas. He is survived by two brothers: Harold Crumpler(Georgia) of Savannah, Ga. And Aubrey Crumpler (Maggie) of Bonnetsville; two sisters: Hazel McEntire of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Joanna Matthis of Clinton, N.C.

The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, October 3, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and other times at the home of Carl and Zola.
