Barbara R. Shattuck Harrell, 79, of 778 Nathan Dudley Road, passed away Wednesday,

August 9, 2017, at Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington.

A graveside service will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Tew Family Cemetery, in front of 1757 Odom Road, Clinton, NC, with Reverend Charles Ray Jernigan officiating.

Barbara, born in 1938 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late George W. Royal and Odell Chesnutt Royal.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Shattuck, Sr. and sister, Amelia Marteal Windsor.  She was employed at the National Guard Association in Washington, DC and retired from Sprint Telephone Company.

Survivors include;  son, John H. Shattuck and wife Debbie; grandson, Jonathon Shattuck and wife Charis; great granddaughter, Hannah Claire Shattuck; and many cousins.
