Thurman Steve Lane, 80, of 124 Ellis St., passed away, Monday, October 16, 2017 with his family by his side.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Clinton Family Worship Center (old sanctuary) at 103 Raiford Street, Clinton, with the Pastor Lynn Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery.
Thurman, born in 1936 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Noah Lane and Pearl McClenny Lane. He worked as a telephone cable splicer with Taylor Splicing Company and attended Clinton Family Worship Center. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wives; Eloise Turner Lane and Billie Joyce Williamson Lane; daughter, Brenda Lane Stewart; great-grandson, Ryan Thomas Barnes; brothers, J. B. Lane, twin, Herman Lane, J. T. Lane and Dearl Lane; and sisters, Virginia Lane and Tiny Pearl Ammons.
Survivors include; daughters, Mae Robinson and Jeanette Rackley; son, Ronnie Lane and wife Shirley; step-daughters, Loria Carter and Billie Kennedy; step-sons, Dennis Nelms and Bennie Nelms; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. – 8 P.M., Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, and at other times at his home.
