Rose Strickland, 84, of 3327 N US Hwy 421, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Serenity Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Flowers and Reverend Richard Weeks officiating.  Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.

Rose, born in 1932 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Bernice Shipp and Estelle Bell Shipp.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Strickland.   She worked in foodservice with the school system and was a member of Serenity Baptist Church.  

Survivors include daughters; Peggy Rose and husband Mike of Clinton, Brenda Saunders and husband Ray of Clinton, Deborah Howell and husband David of Clinton, and Tammy Weeks and Reverend Richard Weeks of Clinton; brother, Willie Melvin Shipp of Clinton; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 P.M. – 9 P.M., Monday, August 14, 2017 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville St., Clinton, NC  28328.

Memorials may be made to the Serenity Baptist Church Choir Dept., 8994 Garland Hwy., Clinton, NC  28328.
