Oscar Elmon Honeycutt, 89, of 40 Peyton Daniels Road, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at Betsy Johnson Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M., Friday, August, 4, 2017 at Old Mill Church of God,

170 Williams Lake Road, Roseboro, NC, with Reverend Jimmy Honeycutt and Reverend Weldon Byrd officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Oscar, born in 1927 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Reverend William Oscar Honeycutt and Angie Lee Holland Honeycutt.  He was a carpenter and a member of the Old Mill Church of God.  He sang with the Honeycutt Family Singers for over fifty years.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Kay Honeycutt; and siblings, Donnie Ray Honeycutt, Ileen Honeycutt and Glenn Honeycutt.

Survivors include his wife of seventy years, Patsy Honeycutt; children, Elmon Keith Honeycutt and wife Annette, Tommy Lee Honeycutt and wife Mary  Honeycutt, Michael E. Honeycutt and wife Cathy  and Dr. Mary Honeycutt; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; brother, J. T. Honeycutt; and sisters, Evelene Brinkley, Mavis Knowles and Virginia Matthews.

The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
