Mary Ruth Strickland, 91, of 105 De Street, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, with  Dr. Ray Ammons officiating.  Interment will be in the Clinton City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at her daughter Ruth Ann Johnson, 7007 Faison Hwy. Faison.

Mary, born in 1926 in Bladen County, was the daughter of the late Charles Floyd Callihan and Penelope Cain Callihan.  She was a homemaker and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Osbourne David Strickland, Sr., five sisters and one brother.

Survivors include; children, Ruth Ann Johnson of Faison, Joan Marie Herring of Clinton, David Strickland, Jr. (Connie) of Columbus, Ohio, and John Mark Strickland (Charlene) of Clinton; grandchildren, Lisa Johnson Bowen, Carla Johnson Woods, David C. Johnson, Joshua Strickland, Holly Herring Holloman, Matthew Herring, John Mark Strickland, Jr., Candise Strickland, and Tiffany Strickland; sixteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Martha Jobe of Burlington.
