Jewell Elaine Guy, 71, of 731 Southwood Drive, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A funeral will be held at 6 P.M., Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, with the Reverend Tony Moore officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately after the service and at other times at the home of Donna and Tim Bass at 3925 Mt. Moriah Church Road, Clinton.  Interment will be at 10 A.M., Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Turkey Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jewell was born in 1944 in Sampson County to the late Levi Sloan Moore and Wilma West Moore.  She was a former employee of The Sampson Independent and was a member of Turkey Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Harold Moore and Earl Moore.  Survivors include Alan Guy and wife Kim of Snow Hill and Donna Guy Bass and husband Tim of Clinton; grandchildren, Tyler Cox and fiancé Kimberly Vann of Clinton, Cody Guy (Jenna King) of Clinton, Harley Bass of Clinton, Cameron Bass of Clinton and Dylan Costello of Charlotte; and great-grandchildren, Chasen Guy.
