James Howard Hope

James Howard Hope, 63, of 7926 N Salemburg Hwy, passed away, Tuesday January 17, 2017 at his home.

A private graveside service will be held.  The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter at 3561 Parker Memorial Drive in Roseboro.

Howard, born in 1953 in Sampson County, was the son of the late James Allen Hope and Thelma McCullen Hope.  He was a heavy equipment operator for the NC Department of Transportation.

James enjoyed Dark Horse Football, Duke Basketball, NASCAR Racing and baseball.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Hope Grady and husband Darryl of Roseboro; granddaughter, McKenzie Hope Grady; three sisters, Shirley Tyner (Doug) of Clinton, Priscilla Harrell (Ricky) of Garner, and Debbie Butler (Larry) of Salemburg; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Denny Hope.
