Irene Naylor Grantham, 92, of 203 Jones Street, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Mary Gran Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held at 5 P.M., Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Mingo Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Hilburn and Reverend Louis Strickland officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of her daughter, at 4840 N. Salemburg, Hwy., Salemburg, NC.     Interment will follow in the Mingo Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Irene, born in Sampson County in 1924, was the daughter of the late Otis Naylor and Lilly Holland Naylor.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Henry Naylor, Graham Naylor, Charles Naylor and Peyton Naylor and sister, Mary Capps.  She worked with Hamilton Beach and was a member of Salemburg Baptist Church. 

Survivors include; son, Byron W. Grantham and wife Polly of Pinehurst, NC; daughter,

Cathy L. McDaniel of Salemburg; grandchildren, Ginger Gentry and husband Mark of Pinehurst, Dr. David Grantham and wife Angie  of Pinehurst, Jennifer Jones and husband Ben of Newton Grove, and Melissa Worley and husband Mark of Newton Grove; great-grandchildren, Brent Hoshall, Jay Hoshall, John Hoshall, Kate Grantham, Sarah Grantham,  Lindsay Grantham, Rebecca Jones and Allie Worley; sisters, Jane West of Mingo, and  Annie Belle Draughon of N. Myrtle Beach, SC .
