Ida Lenora Tew, 96, of 807 Raleigh Road, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Southwood Nursing Center. 

A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend John Hobbs officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. – 2 P.M., one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ida, born in 1921 in Pitt County, was the daughter of the late Johnny H. Deans and Sarah Smith Deans.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; husband, William Alfred Tew; sisters, Mildred Williams, Elizabeth Brill, Peggy Langston; and brother, Tom Deans.  She was a homemaker and a member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include; sisters, Faye Recor of Sunbury, NC, Thelma McCoy of Fountain, NC; brother, Johnny “Bud” Deans and wife Birdine of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister-in-laws, Alma Mintz and Willena King both of Clinton, and Ellen Benton of Fayetteville, NC; brother-in-law, Alvis Tew of Fayetteville, NC; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1481 Fleet Cooper Road, Roseboro, NC  28382.
