Harvey Williams, Jr., 96, of 1492 Bass Lake Road, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Southwood Nursing Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend John Hobbs and Reverend Dudley Neal officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Harvey, born in 1921 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Harvey Williams and Vennie Porter Williams. He retired from the Telecommunication industry and was a member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. He was a WWII veteran and served under General Patton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: wife, Fannie Pope Williams; grandson, Allen Williams; and siblings, Charles Haywood Williams, Elise Gray Williams, James Marshall Williams, Lula Elma Williams, Mimie Thelma Williams, Evelyn Dawn Williams, Alton Brewer Williams, and Peggy Jean Williams.
Survivors include; sons, Ronnie Harvey Williams and wife Bonnie and James Michael Williams and wife Denise; grandchildren, Ronnie Warren Williams, Laura Michelle Williams, Bethany Nicole Williams and Sarah Paige Williams; and siblings, Paul Williams, David Williams and Inez Overton.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, (Prayer Garden), 1481 Fleet Cooper Rd., Roseboro, NC 28382.
