Gertrude Paschal (Steed) Marshburn

Mrs. Gertrude Paschal Steed Marshburn, 83 of 3539 Turkey Hwy., passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

A funeral service will be held 3:30 P.M. Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Rowan Baptist Church with Pastor Clay Carter and Rev. Mike Shook officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 P.M. – 3:30 P.M., Sunday in the church sanctuary. 

Gertrude, was born in Duplin County to the late Julius Frank Steed, Jr. and Laura Congleton Steed.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son James Thomas Marshburn, Jr.  Gertrude was a farmer and a member of Rowan Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, James Thomas Marshburn; son, David Michael Marshburn; daughter, Rebecca Marshburn (Jennifer) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Michael Badger Marshburn (Amanda) and Isabella Mathews Marshburn; three great-grandchildren: James Tyler Marshburn, Matthew Ethan Marshburn, and Morgan Taylor Marshburn; brother, Julius Frank Steed, Jr. of Warsaw; and special niece, Susan Reid (Jim).
