George Albert Lane, 95, of 2070 Boykin Bridge Road, passed away Monday, May, 2, 2016 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 6 P.M., Tuesday, May 3, at Plain View Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverend Chubby Rieber and Reverend William Tew officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately after the service.

Albert, born in Sampson County in 1920, was the son of the late George and Emma Lane.  He was a farmer and the owner of Lane’s Grill.  In addition to his parents,  he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Lucille Lane, and his second wife, Mae Shipp Lane; son, Gene Lane; daughter, Patricia Potter; and grandsons, Don Potter and Ronnie Lane.

Survivors include his daughter, Sue L. Lee and husband Tart Lee; four grandchildren, Scott Lane (Kim), Gary Potter, Brandon Lee and Justin Lee; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Lucille Chestnutt and Peggy Clifton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
