Eloise (Bell) Bass

Eloise Bass, 94, of 498 Byrd Yancey Bass Road, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Sampson Regional Medical Center. 

Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Rowan Baptist Church, with the Reverend Clay Carter and Reverend Mike Shook officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M., to 1:45 P.M., in the church sanctuary and at other times at the home of her daughter at 521 Byrd Yancey Bass Road, Clinton, NC.

Eloise, born in 1922 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late James Eddie Bell and Amanda George Bell.  She was a homemaker and a member of Rowan Baptist Church.  She previously served for many years as a Sunday School teacher at Rowan for the Adult Ladies II Class.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey James Bass and a son, Harvey Douglas Bass.

Survivors include daughters;  Joyce Collins and husband W. P.,  and Peggy Cottle and husband Billy; grandchildren, Christi Naylor and husband Jeff, Walt Collins and wife Ashley, and Jamie Cottle; and great-grandchildren, Cullen Cottle, Grant Naylor, Hope Cottle, Blair Naylor, Jack Collins, Abby Collins, Caroline Collins and Ellie Collins.

Memorials may be made to Rowan Baptist Church, 701 Rowan Road, Clinton, NC  28328.
