Dorothy Brewington, 71, of 57 First Street, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Wake Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M., Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church, in Bolton, NC, with the Reverend Mike Jacobs, Reverend Terry Cummings and Bishop W. L. Ammons officiating.  Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Bolton, NC. 

Dorothy, born in 1945 in Bladen County, was the daughter of the late Andrew James (A. J.) Jacobs and Virgie B. Jacobs.  She was a dining room attendant in the restaurant business, a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and a former member of Mt. Sinai Holiness Church.  In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Carrol Brewington; and sister, Teresa Kaye Jacobs.

Survivors include her husband of forty-nine years, Ronnie Franklin Brewington;  children, Samantha Danielle Brewington, Shonnie Denise Long, Veronica Kay Freeman (Rudolph), Pamela Shena Brewington, and Ronnie Franklin Brewington, II (Melissa Dawn); son-in-law, Jamie Godwin; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenny Ray Jacobs (Priscilla), and Andy Jacobs (Renee); sisters, Pattie Norris (Heber), Avie Patrick, Darlene Jacobs Graham (Mike), Sandra Daniels (Chris), and Audrey Watson (Timmy); and special cousin, Shirley Freeman.

The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. – 8 P.M., Friday, May 12, 2017, at New Bethel Baptist Church in Clinton, NC.
