Dixie Brewington Alicea, 77, of 1309 D Jasper Street, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 4 P.M., Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Holly Grove Holiness Church, with the Reverend Dr. Randy Simmons and Reverend Dr. Dennis Newton officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home of her sister, Beverly at 46 Beulah Road, Clinton, NC.  Interment will follow in the Faircloth Family Cemetery.

Dixie, born in 1940 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Jessie Garman Brewington and Vennie Melvinna Burnett Brewington.  She worked in sales with Kmart Department Store and attended Holly Grove Holiness Church.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include; children, Eric G. Brewington of Shiloh, Norma  Slatton (Gabriel), of San Diego, CA, Elizabeth Alicea of Turkey, Manuel Alicea, Jr. of Milford, IN and Anthony Alicea of Dallas, Texas; Twelve grandchildren; Twenty-two great grandchildren; and sisters, Beverly Brewington, Cynthia Smith and Glenda Chavis.
