Betty Ellen Jackson, 75, of 700 Pine Ridge Road, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M., Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with President Alfred Tyndall and Elder Lee West officiating.  Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Betty, born in Sampson County in 1941 was the daughter of the late Johnny Melvin Shipp and Annie Olia Bell Shipp.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, Robert Shipp and grandson, Joel Tripp.  Betty was a farmer in the livestock and poultry industry and a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-seven years, W. E. Jackson; children, Keith Melvin Jackson (Deborah); daughter, Jennie McClenny (Ed); grandchildren, Scott McClenny (Stacy) Charles McClenny (Amber), Michael Jackson,  Charisa Lee, David Tripp, Heather Tripp and Daniel Tripp; ten great grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Marie Turner.
