Alice Marie (Craig) Creech

Alice (Abby) Marie Creech passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 29, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born May 29, 1932 in Clinton, NC, the daughter of Carrie Vann and Paul L. Craig.

A graveside service will be held at 3 P.M., Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Clinton City Cemetery with Reverend Roy Hilburn officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately after the service at her home.

She was an adventurous independent woman who will be remembered for her quick wit and infectious laughter. She was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed any type of craft making.   She found happiness making clothes for her children and grandchildren.   As a working mother, she held several jobs throughout her life. Her last employment was in Sampson County with the Department of Aging, where she assisted in a home for men whom she held great affection.

Left to cherish her memory are; three daughters, Gwen Clark (Mike) of Mt. Pleasant SC , Lindy Faison of Wilmington, NC and Alicia Keith (Robert) of Wilmington, NC; ten grandchildren and one very special great grandchild, Dylan Canady of Hampstead, NC;  special niece, Liz Stanley and husband Wayne of Clinton; and great nephew, Ernie Stanley and wife Ashley of Clinton, who were of great help to Abby in recent years.

A lifelong lover of animals, the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Underdog Ranch, PO Box 217, Angrier NC 27501 or to the charity of ones choice.
